February 18: Knitting Project Part Two

Back in January, we began a project where the girls could learn basic knitting and crochet stitches and begin work on their own projects. We were lucky enough to have someone come in to facilitate this project for us.

Atras en Enero, nosotros comensamos un projecto adonde las muchachas puederon aprender como tejer y tejer a ganchillo con puntos basicos. Ellas tambien comensaron sus propios projecto. Turemos la suerte que puedemos tener a algiuen que veno a facilitator este proyecto para nosotros.
This is the second part of our Knitting Program. The girls have been having alot of fun learning some new skills with both knitting and crochet. The projects they are individually working on range from the very beginning of a possible future scarf or afghan to learning to make granny squares.

Este es la segunda parte de nuestro projecto de tejer. Las muchachas an turido mucha diversion aprendendo como tejer y como tejer a ganchillo. Los proyectos que estan trabajando individualmente pueden extenderse de el comenzo de una futura bufanda o el afghan para aprender hacer granny squares.

There is something so repetitive and soothing in knitting and crochet.

Ay algo repetitivo y caimante en tejendo y tejendo con ganchillo.

And the fact that projects like these can be portable and toted along in a purse or diaper bag is very appealing too.

Y el hecho que el proyecto como estas puede ser portatil y puede ponerse en la cartera o en la panalera es muy apelar tambien.

February 11: Valentines Heart Plaques

Our Valentines Day Projects turned out quite lovely.

Nuesto proyecto del dia de san valentine saliron muy lindos.

Using heart shaped wooden plaques that can be found at many craft stores... as well as an assortment of papers, stickers glitter and markers, etc.

Each mom created a valentine for their special little someone. The completed plaques range from total glittery sparkle to a paper square mosaic look and everything in between. Ribbons to hang the pretty hearts completed the project.

Two Valentine-themed books were read and given to the children for our Literacy program: How Do I Love You by P.K.Halinan and Babycakes by Karma Wilson.

As a special treat we had an assortment of sweet snacks, including cake and white chocolate dip with pretzels.

Usando placas de madera en forma de corazones puede encontra en muchas tiendas de arte... tambien diferente tipos de papel, stickers,brio y marcadores furon usados en el proyecto.
Cada mama hizo un valentine para su persona, pequena especial. Los corazones completo son diferente series de arte. Unos son muy briosas y otros estan cubiertos de mosaic cuardos de papel. Las cintas acabron el proyecto. Para el programa alfabetismo se lleyron dos libros relacionados al tema del dia del valentine.
Despues se les entregron copias del los libros a los ninos: How Do I Love You escrito por P.K. Halinan y Babycakes escrito por Karma Wilson.
 Como un regalo especial turimos muchos tipos de camadas dulces, includino pastel y salados con chocolates blanco.
